John Pennington


Beginning in April 2009, John Pennington joined Savoy Properties as a commercial broker, spearheading new business development for its newly expanded brokerage services. Formerly a broker with CB Richard Ellis, John’s background includes office and retail brokerage, with an emphasis on investment sales and owner representation. Since beginning his real estate career with CBRE in mid-2006, he has grown his client list to many St. Louis companies and banks, to include First Bank, Boulevard Bank, Kirkwood Masonry, Hercules Construction Management, Heffernan Insurance, Meyer Insurance Group, among others.


His passion for numbers, investing, and service transcends to his passion in real estate as John spends a good portion of his time working with Banks, Investors, and Owners working with their real estate needs. Whether it’s representing banks on their corporate real estate and loan portfolio, or working with local investors in their in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of investment properties, John enjoys adding value and service by putting himself in the place of the client. Born and raised in St. Louis, John brings a background of local knowledge to his work, providing maximum value to the clients he serves.

John graduated from the University of Colorado in 2005, with a B.A. in History and Psychology. Upon graduation, John worked as a full-time volunteer teacher through Alumni Service Corps at Regis Jesuit High School in Denver, CO, where he taught, history, geography, business, and coached football, basketball and baseball. In 2006 he returned to St. Louis, and currently resides in South City with his wife, Genna.

In addition to his work at Savoy, John serves on the young board of Loyola Academy and the board of the South City YMCA. John also enjoys his free time volunteering and contributing to community politics and developments, where he serves on various boards, committees, and campaigns.
